1800

Soloman Smith came to area and built first Log Cabin on Lot 47. In 2006 this is the Lee Rd.

Captain Wyman & E. Snow came and built the 3rd Log House on Lot #57 now on Mason Rd.

1805

First baby born in area, John Smith son of Soloman
Ira Hoot built a Sawmill at Cheevers

1806

A family stopped at a log house for the night, having traveled from Oneida County. They placed their cattle in the barn. A pack of wolves came in the night, and surrounded the building where the sheep were. The sheep were killed by wolves. This was just west of what is now Albright Road.
First school opened. Harriet Eason teacher.

1807

Ira Foot began a Basket Factory in Demster on site of Duell's Mill.
First Cemetery in New Haven for the Brander Children

1808

Sherman Hosmer held school at Butterfly corners.

1809

First store in Hamlet run by Anson Drake. Store was in operation until 1860 with several different operators.
Brayton built a Gristmill at Cheevers.
