Population 2000 people.
Fair with 1,500 persons attending held on the 25th & 26th of Sept. Rained both days.
Odd Fellows Lodge formed & soon disbanded.
Sons of Temperance was active.

1851

Sidney Shepard and Elizabeth DeAngelis were married.

Whitney Brothers purchased Hale Warehouse and Coffins. Later Ross Oxner purchased business. Whitney and Oxner were undertakers. The barn is still standing today.
Daughter born to Mr. & Mrs. Shepard. Lilly died in 1865

1856

Charles Sidney Shepard was born and lived most of his life in New Haven. When not attending business in New York City and Buffalo.
