Civil War Monument established in New haven Cemetery.

1872

Captain Charles Snow went down with his schooner in Lake Huron in a storm.

1873

 

1874

The Patrons of husbandry #52 was organized with Mrs. Delia Lewis as master of the grange in Demster.

1875

Dempster camp ground formed. First camp meeting 3,500 people attended.
All distilleries out of business. This was Temperance Town.

1876

 

1877

The hamlet of Dempster filed for a Post Office in Dempster. Someone in Washington left out the P, so it became Demster.
Odd Fellows reorganized as Beacon Light Lodge

1878

New Haven Union Cheese Factory and Creamery, built by a stock company near Dempster campground.
