Beginning of War with Japan.
Dec. 7-Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Dec. 8-President Roosevelt asked Congress if we declare war on Japan.

1944

Plane crashed in Lake Ontario. A B24 wing was found floating off Shore Oaks, New haven. 8 men on board.
 

1945

Tornado ripped through an area in town, and trees and buildings were damaged. 40 apple trees uprooted at Anderson/Robinson Fruit Farm and Barbo house moved off it's foundation.
April 8: Leroy Hall former resident of N.H. was killed in France. Only one with connection to New Haven killed. He is buried here.

1946

New Haven decided the old horse barn was no longer adequate so they built a new garage of Blocks. Henry Lehtonam and Perly Wider were the masons with Orly Bullock Helper.
A new application for a temporary Charter dated June 14, 1946 with 15 Charter members. A permanent Charter was issued Jan. 6, 1950.
 

1947

7 year old girl from Syracuse, was at the feed mill, with her grandfather, she fell in the raceway and got caught in the water wheel and drowned.
June 14-Reg & Thelma Backus bought the Brick House from Wilmarth/Salisbury Estate
 

1948

New Haven Fire Department held it's 1st meeting on April 15.
1st Fire station built to accommodate 2 trucks. Meeting rooms upstairs.
