1960

In August, Duell's Sawmill burned. 75% of the equipment was a total loss-Part of the buildings were saved. Building was rebuilt & equipment replaced & is still a working mill today.

1963

5 people drowned in Mud Lake, when a home built craft capsized.
2nd addition to New haven Elementary School was approved.

1964

Construction on New Haven Elementary School's 2nd addition at the cost of $191,761.

1965

3rd addition approved at New haven Elementary School. Construction was started in November at the cost of $37,000.
 

1966

Palermo Methodist built a new church. The bell at the church was taken from the Vermillion Methodist.

1967

Timbello & his sons bought the old Shepard Estate & made a home for boys. It was not a success and after several years furnishings were sold.

1968

Methodist Church purchased the Howard House and converted it into 4 apartments for senior citizens.
