Supervisor Timothy Teifke called the special meeting for June 13, 2018 to order at 5:00 p.m. at the New Haven Town Hall. Roll call: Councilman Dan Barney, Councilwoman Mary Curcio, Councilman William Rombough, and Supervisor Timothy Teifke present. Councilwoman Patricia Prosser absent.


The purpose of the meeting is to take action on a proposed settlement of the Crown Atlantic proceedings. The meeting was legally advertised and posted on the Town’s and bulletin board.

Questions/Answers From Previous Meeting:

• What other Towns are being sued? Have any of them settled? No other Towns in our County, Three Lawsuits in various counties, yes all have settled.
• What was the prior assessment? When was it increased? $400,000 was the prior, it was increased in 2013.
• What is the income from the tower? $80,000 most recent income reported.
• Councilman Dan Barney asked the town's assessor Esther Rogers "Why the assessment of the tower was not raised at least 12% in 2017 when NYS raised our towns value by 12%?" Esther answered that because in another county a cell tower sale was found for $500,000 so therefore it was left where it was.

Motion by William Rombough, second by Mary Curcio, to accept the recommended resolution presented by Attorney Kevin Caraccioli to set the assessment value of $375,000 for the next three tax years. Dan Barney, Nay; Mary Curcio, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried.

Assessor Workshop: Warren Wheeler accepted the proposal of a working trial period from July-December 2018. The Town's attorney Thomas Reynolds will draw up a working agreement of expectations during this trial period.
